The Vio Armchair extends the founding principles of Vio chair, reduction, clarity, and lasting comfort, into a fuller, more enveloping presence. Where the dining chair distils the essential, the armchair invites a slower pace. The addition of armrests is not a departure from the original language but a natural evolution of it, widening the gesture of welcome without adding visual noise.
The construction remains faithful to its origins: reduced to the elements that matter, achieving structural integrity through honest joinery and considered form. Its curved geometry, defined by the same precise lines that characterise the Vio family, produces a silhouette that is balanced and composed, open enough to feel light, enclosing enough to feel like shelter.
Available in upholstered and non-upholstered versions, the Vio armchair adapts to a broad range of settings, a head-of-table position in a dining room, a statement seat in a reading corner, or a refined accent within a hospitality environment. Its character is versatile without being neutral, present without demanding attention.
Like its counterpart, the Vio armchair is conceived to pair naturally with all Wewood tables, sharing the same commitment to material authenticity, skilled craftsmanship, and enduring relevance. It is built to be used daily, to develop character over time, and to remain long after trends have passed.
Its name, drawn from the final letters of Convívio, the Portuguese word for the art of gathering, for the warmth of people around a shared table, carries into this armchair the same quiet intention: to make the time spent together more comfortable, more human, more lasting.
